Our latest adventure was with Holland America Line on their 22-day Panama Canal cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Seattle. We must say that cruising through the Panama Canal (often times dubbed the 8th Wonder of the World) is one of the most amazing experiences we’ve had to date. Just that one day spent in the canal transit from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean was worth the entire journey. If you have any interest in this 102-year-old man-made lock system that cuts across the Isthmus of Panama and shortens shipping voyages by approximately 2 weeks, it is indeed a fascinating feat of engineering. (BTW: Holland America Line has some fabulous Panama Canal cruise itineraries.)
