Piggy Excursion in The Bahamas

By WAVEJourney

During WJs Blount Small Ship Adventures cruise in The Bahamas, an optional excursion available to passengers was to see the wild pigs. These pigs that live on the uninhabited Big Major Cay island, part of the Exumas, ranged in size from piglets to huge, fully-grown adults weighing about 500 lbs. As boats approached the beach, the pigs swam out to see what food had been brought for them, and allowed the visitors to pet and wade with them.

So, when you get to the Exumas it is worth taking a boat ride out to Pig Island to experience this unique and unusual sight for yourself. It was one of the highlights for us during our time in the gorgeous Bahamas.
