Embarkation
The stated boarding time for our cruise was 2 p.m. We arrived at Summit’s terminal facility about 12:30 p.m. to investigate how early you could board the ship; and the earliest you could enter your stateroom. The line to have your larger bags checked moved quickly; the process was expedited due to sufficient and efficient staff overseeing everything, and assisting those needing special attention.

Inside the terminal, the signs and staff quickly got us into the appropriate line to have our documentation checked, our pictures taken and our SeaPasses issued. Without any delays or long lines, we boarded the beautiful Summit by about 1 p.m., a full hour before the published boarding time.
Once on-board, the ship’s common facilities such as the pool, sundeck, library, shops, bars, etc. were available for our use. For those wishing to have something to eat, the Oceanview Café on Deck 10 was open and serving numerous food items; many guests visited the popular ice cream bar.
Starting around 2:00 p.m., the announcements were made regarding which staterooms were available for guests; by 2:30 p.m., all rooms had been cleaned and sanitized from the prior cruise. By the time most guests reached their stateroom, their checked luggage had already been delivered; virtually all had their luggage within half-an-hour of occupying their room.
