Production Shows
Every night Celebrity Summit provides an exciting performance in the Celebrity Theater. The first night showcases all the acts that will be performing on the ship, another night features an established comedian, and three production shows by the Celebrity Summit cast members delight guests each week.

Production Manager Jennifer Geisler and the staff of Celebrity Theater enhance the production shows by skillfully utilizing the stage’s 12-foot pit lift and the rotating table in the center of the stage with its embedded 5 lifts.

Qdos, a London firm produces all the theatrical shows for the Celebrity ships, including developing the concept and music; they also design and construct the costumes for all the production numbers. The material used for the costumes has to withstand substantial use, and they remain on the ship for the full run of the production; which can be a couple of years. Costumes are made from heavy duty material; a typical costume we lifted weighed 12 pounds! During the Back Stage Tour (available to all guests) Jennifer explained that each time the exiting cast of singers and dancers finish their contract (typically about 6 or 7 months), the costumes are refitted and used by the next set of cast members.

To be selected as a cast member, each person must go through an audition process. When the full cast has been selected they practice at a land facility for 4 to 5 weeks and then go on-board to observe the existing cast for one week. Finally the new cast starts performing. Once on-board and classified as Celebrity Cruises employees they have freedom of mingling and dining with the guests if they desire. Because of this you frequently run into them as you are enjoying the ship’s facilities.
