PROS:
Whether it was packing up the gadgets for airport travel, or spending a day out sightseeing, or off on a hike in the jungle, we were able to have all our essential items fit. The padded laptop compartment had ample room, and kept items in place and easy to access. The padded camera compartment was perfect for keeping items secure and free from bumps. The included rain cover is a welcome bonus for times when you get caught unexpectedly in a shower or downpour.
There was plenty of room to store the following items:
- Sony a6000 camera with 2 lenses (18-50 and 55-210)
- Fuji waterproof camera
- Nikon point and shoot camera
- Binoculars
- Guide book
- iPod Touch
- Lenovo 14″ laptop
- Chargers, power bank, travel plugs, memory cards and extra batteries
- Travel coloring book and pencils
- Lightweight rain jacket
- Sunglasses, bug spray, and sun block
- Snacks
- Hydro Flask 18 oz stainless steel water bottle
CONS:
The only complaint we have is about the waist strap. This pack can carry a considerable amount of weight when fully loaded with a laptop, camera(s), lenses, tripod, various other gadgets and a lightweight rain jacket, etc. Therefore, we would like to see a more sturdy and somewhat padded waist strap rather than the plain 1″ webbing strap that doesn’t provide any comfort or real support. The bag would feel much better after an hour or so of sightseeing if the waist strap actually provided some use.
BOTTOM LINE:
This pack is loaded with useful features! Fully packed, it was comfortable and provided the safety features we typically expect from Pacsafe products. We did use the waist strap and sternum straps in crowded areas – as added security to stop the pack from just being lifted off. The pack came back looking good as new after lots of use in various climates and conditions. Due to the size, features and safety element, the Pacsafe Camsafe V25 anti-theft camera backpack will undoubtedly be our go-to pack for most of our future adventures and travels.
