One of the main attractions of the city event Lux Helsinki 2013 will be Pink Caravan by light artist Ainu Palmu. Pink Caravan is a travelling light installation that will light up a different object on each night of the event. The light art can also be enjoyed during Lux Helsinki with guided walking tours. The work of setting up all the light installations will begin gradually after Christmas and the New Year, when all the artists will be in Finland and available in advance for interviews.

Pink Caravan paints the town pink

Pink Caravan colours buildings throughout the city centre pink. The final result can be enjoyed for one night only before the caravan moves on to its next target. The pink installation is accompanied by specially composed music. Pink Caravan was inspired by light artist Ainu Palmu’s desire to paint the town pink – to create a playful and joyful atmosphere in Helsinki by transforming grey public institutions into something rather more pink and welcoming.
