I may be from the North, but when it comes to food, I would have made a great Scarlett O’Hara! “Tomorrow is another day” had become my motto whenever it came to ordering from a restaurant menu. But all that changed when my friends introduced me to Seasons 52, a fresh grill and wine bar in Boca Raton, Florida. Because nothing on the menu is over 475 calories, I could avoid feeling guilty and eat sensibly.

Part of the appeal of Seasons 52 can be attributed to the seasonally inspired menu combined with an award-winning global wine list. Our evening began with the sommelier’s selection of a silky, smooth St. Francis Merlot and a pleasant, fruit-flavor Selbach Oster Pinot Blanc.

My table of four ordered a few signature flatbreads. The chef is dedicated to using regional ingredients and preparing the flatbreads in a variety of ways. I particularly liked the artichoke hearts and goat cheese flatbread, which was sprinkled with leaf spinach, peppers and balsamic onions. My dinner companions thought the lobster flatbread topped with mozzarella cheese was so good that they ordered another one.

To enhance the natural flavors of the seafood and beef, the chef uses an exposed brick oven and oak-fire grill. My dinner partners opted for the caramelized sea scallops and the cedar plank roasted salmon. I selected the grilled rack of lamb – seasoned well on the outside with a touch of pink on the inside.

Desserts at Seasons 52 are not merely an indulgence, but must-haves! Our table ordered four “mini indulgences” without feeling guilty. They are essentially flavored puddings attractively presented in a shot glass. We carefully selected the blueberry cheesecake, chocolate peanut butter mousse, old-fashioned carrot cake and mocha macchiato.

Seasons 52 affords guests a memorable dining experience enhanced by casual ambiance, attentive service and fair prices. It’s no surprise that Seasons 52 is recommended as one of Boca Raton’s best choices!
