Uniworld Vietnam & Cambodia Cruise: Kampong Cham Excursion

DAY 9: INCLUDED AFTERNOON EXCURSION OF PHNOM PROS, PHNOM SREI AND WAT NOKOR IN CAMBODIA

This is our last afternoon aboard Uniworld River Orchid and we’re definitely not ready for the cruise portion of our trip to be over. But, there’s still one included excursion from the ship while she’s docked in Kampong Cham, and even though we really wanted to spend the remainder of our time aboard, we certainly couldn’t miss visiting Phnom Pros and Phnom Srei.

Kampong Cham (located approximately 123 km/80 miles from Phnom Penh) is within a short coach ride (7 km/4.5 miles) of the two adjacent hills – man hill = Phnom Srei and woman hill = Phnom Pros – with their related Buddhist temples.

Our last part of the 2 hour excursion took us to Nokor Bachey Temple, which was built during the same time period as the Angkor temples (Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom).

Then it was back to River Orchid and time to relax on the sundeck with a chilled Cambodian beer before getting ready for dinner.

At 6:30 PM Cruise Manager Ha joined the passengers with the rest of the crew on the ship’s sundeck. It was also time for the farewell and disembarkation briefing before a delicious Khmer-themed dinner was served in the dining room.

Next… Onward to Siem Reap in Cambodia
