Being a member of the French Sofitel Hotel Group is definitely a benefit for the luxury 5-star Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit Hotel – where French and Thai influences blend perfectly throughout the property.

The Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit is ideally located near the Nana and Askok BTS stations in the bustling financial and shopping district of Sukhumvit in Bangkok. It is also very close to the Sukhumvit MRT subway station, which is quick and easy to use to get to/from Hua Lamphong Train Station.

Bangkok is a bustling metropolis that welcomes and captivates her visitors through fascinating culture, incredible food, inspiring sights and friendly people – it is simple to see why it is one of the world’s top destinations. Not only is the city easy to get to from International destinations, it is easy to get around – especially when using a longtail boat or ferry on the mighty Chao Phraya River to get to various sites.

Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit has 345 luxury rooms and suites. The incredibly comfortable and over-sized beds are adorned with duvets and luxurious linens. Although Sofitel offers the MyBed concept (different overlay mattresses to fit individual guest’s body contours and firmness preference), we found the beds perfect just as they were and didn’t require any adjustment. The desk layout was excellent for working, with plenty of plugs for charging electronics. The guest room was spacious and well-appointed and also had good lighting – ideal for reading or working. The marble bathroom had a large soaking tub and separate rainfall shower. Top quality Hermes bathroom products included bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion.

Enjoy an extensive breakfast buffet at Voila! – and make sure not to miss the Cheese Room. The finest culinary experience can be enjoyed at the French inspired L’Appart Restaurant on the 32nd floor. At L’Appart, top quality ingredients and impeccable service meld together to enhance the first-class dining. For a more relaxed atmosphere Le Bar de L’Hôtel on the lobby level is perfect for lounging with a cocktail or casual dining.

  • The outdoor pool – although it is not heated and is chilly even on hot days, it is perfect for cooling off after a day of sightseeing in Bangkok

  1. What’s not to love about a luxurious resort with great views, good food and pretty (and tasty) desserts?!

    Patti 03/19/2014 at 4:25 pm
    • You’ve got that right, Patti!!! All the important things in life, right! 😉

      Viv 03/20/2014 at 12:08 pm
  2. What a great place to stay! Makes me want to visit Bangkok~

    Irene S Levine 03/19/2014 at 5:02 pm
    • Totally add Bangkok to your travel list, Irene. It is an amazing city… and the hotel is wonderful 🙂

      Viv 03/20/2014 at 12:08 pm
  3. What a gorgeous hotel to use as a base for Bangkok. There’s so much to do and see in and around that city, and coming back to the Sofitel would be the perfect end to the day. Being close to transit and shopping (I loved the night shopping in the “colorful” outdoor markets!) is a huge plus — I wouldn’t want to drive in Bangkok!

Patti Morrow 03/19/2014 at 5:14 pm
    • Yes, Patti, the Sofitel Sukhumvit is quite gorgeous. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Bangkok. It was so handy for public transit, also an excellent location for just taking a walk to the nearby shopping and restaurants.

  4. Oooh. Nice desk. But here’s the 64,000 Baht question? How was the wifi and was it free?

Suzanne Fluhr 03/20/2014 at 3:46 am
    • That is definitely the 64,000 Baht question, Suzanne. Fabulous free WiFi and the speed was decent for all we wanted to do. Although, we tried not to spend too much time on the internet as we wanted to just relax and enjoy the facilities in the hotel. The desk was one of our favorites – it moved too, so was easy to get comfortable and fully utilize it.

  5. Have never been to Bangkok, but the Sofitel looks like a good place to stay when I do go. Wow.

Doreen Pendgracs 03/20/2014 at 8:04 am
    • You’re in for a real treat when you do go, Doreen. Bangkok is a splendid city to explore and the Sofitel Sukhumvit is perfect as a base.

  6. The Sofitel Sukhumvit looks like a glamorous stay. I’ve stayed at a Sofitel in Vietnam and can attest to the lovely French ambiance but have to say that any hotel that has Hermes bath products deserves a visit for that reason alone!

Michele Peterson 03/24/2014 at 11:23 am
    • This was our first Sofitel experience – obviously won’t be our last. Yes, the French ambiance is wonderful and the Hermes bath products are divine. Wish we’d had the time to stay at a Sofitel in Vietnam, too 🙂

Cacinda Maloney 03/24/2014 at 11:26 am
    • Cacinda, you’d really enjoy the hotel. We know you like luxury digs, so Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit would fit the bill 🙂

      Viv 03/24/2014 at 6:27 pm
  8. Wow, what a lux stay, i would love to visit there when I get to Thailand some day…sweet!

    noel 03/24/2014 at 12:04 pm
    • Yes, Noel, Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit is lux! We also hope you get to stay there when you visit Bangkok – it’s a fantastic respite from the hustle and bustle of the city 🙂
