Fathom Travel to the Dominican Republic Cruise Preview

WAVEJourney is counting down to our Fathom Impact Travel cruise to the Dominican Republic. On April 17, we will join the 700-passenger ship Adonia in Miami, Florida for a seven-night inaugural voyage. This new concept in cruising from the Carnival Corporation combines organized travel with meaningful social impact volunteer activities that are designed to bring cruisers and locals together. We think the Dominican Republic is a very deserving country for Fathom to start these unique experience cruises.

The Dominican Republic is a country of great beauty. But it’s also a country of great need. 40% of the population lives below the poverty line, and the average household income is less than $6,000 (1). More than 3 million Dominicans don’t have access to piped water (2).

Fathom Dominican Republic Cruise Weekly Itinerary:

Our cruise is scheduled to set sail from Miami at 4 PM the day we embark (Sunday), and will be at sea for two days. During this time, onboard activities will focus on orienting passengers with what to expect upon arrival and during our time in the Dominican Republic.

  • Learn about the impact activities available during our time in the Dominican Republic

  • Participate in workshops and onboard activities to prepare us for our impact experiences

Passengers will also have ample time during the voyage to enjoy the facilities on the ship, including the library, spa, gym, and pool.

During the three days the Adonia is docked at Amber Cove, near Puerto Plata, we will have the opportunity to volunteer for a variety of impact activities with locals.

BOTTOM LINE:

WAVEJourney is excited to set sail on this brand new adventure with Fathom. Plus, cruising is one of our favorite forms of transportation, and we haven’t taken a cruise we haven’t enjoyed. One of the biggest bonuses for us is getting to see new places and meet new people while only unpacking once, and returning each night to our floating home after a full day of exploring. This new concept of social impact, volunteerism, and cruising all rolled into one has piqued our interest. We are thrilled to be invited on the inaugural Fathom Dominican Republic cruise.

Stay tuned for all the details we will share about our voyage.

PRICING
Pricing for a seven-day Fathom Impact Journey to the Dominican Republic starts at $974 per person.
