As we know you are busy enjoying your summer vacation, we are keeping this month’s newsletter short and sweet. But we also wanted to share some of our photos and updates from our current European adventures – click the links below. My journey began by taking the beautiful Chuckanut Drive instead of Interstate 5 into historic Fairhaven, the old part of the city of Bellingham. Chuckanut Drive begins just north of Burlington, Washington, and is 21.28 miles. This drive was incorporated into the Pacific Highway in 1913 and was considered part of U.S. 99 in 1926. Now it is referred to as State Route 11, and is well worth the diversion off of busy I-5. From Chuckanut Drive, you can see the San Juan Islands, my ultimate destination. Chuckanut drive took me straight into Fairhaven, where I checked into the lovely Fairhaven Village Inn…

– Fairhaven Village Inn in Washington – A lovely and charming boutique hotel in the middle of the village.
– Hotel Cambon – WJ’s favorite 4-star boutique hotel in Paris. We stayed again recently and it felt like home.
– Hovey Manor in Quebec – They just received another Wine Spectator award… and, rightly so! They received the “Best Of Award Of Excellence” from Wine Spectator. 9 years in a row!
– Klaus K Design Hotel in Helsinki was one of our most favorite hotels in the last 5 weeks of travel. We highly recommend them.
