We all hear about the Dutch being incredibly innovative when it comes to storm protection – remember the story about the little Dutch boy that put his finger in the dike to stop the floods? Well, we got to see the marvel that is the Delta Works in Zeeland.
The Deltapark Neeltje Jans in Zeeland can easily fill a day – we only had time to spend a few hours going through the exhibition that shows exactly how the Delta Works was constructed.
It certainly was very enlightening to see exactly how the Dutch prevent major flooding throughout the country from the sea’s storm surge.
