Epic Southwest USA Road Trip – Day 26: It’s a Wrap! Reno, Nevada to Central Oregon
Snapshots of WAVEJourney’s road trip on the final day of our 26-day journey. From the Peppermill Reno Resort Hotel & Casino we travel north to Bend in Central Oregon.
This is it! This is the final day of our 26-day journey through 7 states (Oregon, Nevada, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Utah), covering 5,634 miles and taking a few hundred hours of driving time.

Getting closer to Central Oregon
Fresh snow on Newberry Crater in Central Oregon
As we explored new states and sites, along the way we also had the chance to visit quite a few friends in their hometowns – that was a total treat and big highlight of the trip.

What did we come away with from this adventure?
- This is one big ass country!
- People are friendly
- The scenery is beautiful
- There’s amazing food everywhere
- Each state is individual – so many differences flying the same national flag
- The Grand Canyon National Park is still our favorite
- Oregon’s 55 MPH speed limit on state roads and 60 MPH on highways is ridiculously slow
- Thank you Texas for 75 MPH speed limit on state roads and 80 MPH speed limit on highways – it made the very long distances fly by.
- 90% of drivers are distracted while driving – either speaking, texting or ???
- We can’t wait to take more road trips in other parts of the USA and beyond…
