Today we drove our Volvo XC60 from Bend, Oregon to Reno, Nevada. This journey was approximately 394 miles, took almost 7 hours from start to finish and found us driving along remote highways and byways in the scenic outback. From Bend we took US-97 south to La Pine where we headed east on Fremont Highway OR-31. This route took us through Summer Lake and Paisley before joining US-395 near Lakeview.

The Peppermill Reno Resort Casino is always where we stay when we visit this area. The Tuscany Tower suites and the fantastic dining at various restaurants in the resort and casino make this a fun place to stay. Tonight we dined at Romanza Ristorante – our go-to restaurant for excellent food and service for the last 10 years.
