Daily Itinerary:
Day 9 – London City Tour
The only thing scheduled on the agenda for passengers today was an included three-hour sightseeing tour of London’s major sights. Our London tour guide for the morning was Andrea and we were carefully transported by local coach driver Ossie. Both proved to have a great sense of humor and were an absolute delight to spend the morning with toddling around London.
Highlights:
Royal Albert Hall – We had time to step out of the bus and take a few photos of the hall and Albert Memorial before continuing on to the next point of interest.
As we continued on past Hyde Park we saw the Queen’s Horse Guards riding through the park. Andrea gave some handy tips to passengers wishing to attend a theater show – best place to get discount tickets is at Piccadilly Circus on the day of the performance.
Westminster Abbey – We had a 40-minute break here to take some photos or grab a quick cuppa at a nearby cafe. As we were just across the street from the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, it gave us the opportunity to wander over to them for a photo shoot. There wasn’t enough time on this visit to go inside Westminster Abbey (which charges a hefty fee), but there would be ample free time in the afternoon for anyone wishing to see the inside to return for a tour.

Changing of The Guard – Andrea made sure to have us situated along The Mall near Buckingham Palace and the Victoria Memorial for the best view of the Changing of The Guard. This was our lucky day as it only happens every second day from August to April.
Once the guided tour was over, we had the option to leave the bus in the city or get a ride back to our hotel. We opted to get dropped off near Harrod’s and spend a couple of hours wandering around this famous department store.

Note: Make sure to visit the food floor – it is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.
The rest of the afternoon and evening was ours to enjoy and so we spent the time wandering around London, people watching, stopping in at a local pub for a pint before making our way back to the hotel late in the evening and calling it a day.
