A free afternoon in Phnom Penh was suited to spending a few hours wandering around the Central Market. With a few fellow passengers, we rented a ramok to take us to and from the ship.

The Central Market was filled to the gills with everything imaginable. Most of us were looking for clothing, silk scarves, hats and unusual souvenirs. Even those that didn’t want to barter about the prices at the market, they still came away with some great deals on purchases.

We returned to Uniworld River Orchid in time to enjoy cocktails on the sun deck before the evening port talk. Following was a wonderful and very entertaining local dance performance by children from an orphanage in Phnom Penh.

Dinner was served in the Dining Room and then the movie The Quiet American was played in the TV Lounge while the ship continued to remain docked in Phnom Penh for the night.
