Long-term travel has its challenges! Everyone has their own definition of what long-term travel is, but for me it’s a month or more on the road… therefore, a 9-week jaunt through Southeast Asia definitely qualifies. One of the biggest challenges of such a trip is packing, especially when everything needs to fit into a carry-on and have multiple purposes. That’s where Clothing Arts’ P^cubed Pick-Pocket Proof Convertible Travel Pants came in very handy.
Over the years I’ve worn many different brands of convertible travel pants and for the most part only liked wearing them as shorts. The main reason being that the length when worn as pants was generally too long and most were either too flared (flashback to bell bottom pants of the ’70s), or too skinny around the ankles (pain to unzip and take off the lower portion while still wearing shoes/hiking boots). P^cubed Pick-Pocket Proof Convertible Travel Pants changed my views of this style of garment thanks to their unique features!
I must share that I typically prefer men’s shorts (and pants) because the style and sizing tends to be the perfect fit for my body type; plus, the length of the shorts works best for my needs (more modest and less flare around the knees). These convertible travel pants are unisex, so should be flattering to most women’s physiques. I also liked that the pants worked well in both cooler temperatures (winter in Laos with lows down to 46 F) as well as hot and humid climates (95 F and 100% humidity in Siem Reap, Cambodia).
The convenience of wearing a pair of convertible pants during this trip definitely came into play when visiting temples – the zip-off legs function was priceless when I didn’t want or need to spend the entire day wearing just long pants.
One of the main features of P^cubed Pick-Pocket Proof pants is security. With zippers, buttons and flaps securing pockets, it was difficult to quickly get into my own pockets – impossible for a pick-pocket! So, on travel days I felt very confident that all my valuables (passport, cash, credit cards, iPod Touch, P&S camera, etc.) that had been stuffed into my pant pockets would remain there.
The convertible pants survived daily abuse on public transport (buses, cyclos, tuk tuks, taxis, trucks, trains, planes, etc.,) and came back almost as good as new – with only minor signs of wear and tear (a front pocket rubbed from wearing my DSLR camera).
Clothing Arts‘ P^cubed Pick-Pocket Proof Convertible Travel Pants were a valuable addition to my travel wardrobe and will continue to be for many more trips to come.
