We love walking the beach at any time of the year. When visiting Amsterdam in The Netherlands, we always try and take a quick trip to one of the beach towns along the North Sea.
This time, that beach town was Zandvoort – located about 24 km/15 miles west of Amsterdam and easy to access by train, bus or car.
After an invigorating walk along the beach (battling the winds – it’s rather blustery in all seasons), we stopped at Tijn Akersloot Restaurant Bar and dined on burgers and chips, washed down with a wonderful Dutch beer – Jopen Bier from Haarlem.
This waterfront casual restaurant was a fantastic place to enjoy watching the sun start to set.
