Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort & Spa Review
WJ Tested: Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort & Spa Review
By WAVEJourney
Overview:
When we chose the AAA Four Diamond all-inclusive Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort & Spa to stay at for 4 nights while in the Los Cabos area, we thought it would be the ideal place to base ourselves and explore. Once we arrived and toured the resort, we soon realized that it was going to be very difficult to tear ourselves away from the facilities and get off the property – other than for taking long beach walks. In October 2015, the 230-suite luxury resort reopened after being completely remodeled and renovated due to extensive damage caused by Hurricane Odile (the largest hurricane to ever hit the Baja) in September 2014. Basically, this is now a brand new resort that features modern furnishings and fixtures in a traditional colonial Mexican design. WJ witnessed some amazing sunrises and sunsets over the beautiful coral sand beach and the sparkling Sea of Cortes, and whether we were relaxing under a palapa on the beach or busy with daily activities around the resort, all our needs were well taken care of.
Location:
The resort is located beachfront on the Sea of Cortes; directly along the hotel corridor between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas (approximately 13 miles to the west) on the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula. Our shared mini-van shuttle from the Cabo International Airport, transferred us to Dreams Los Cabos in less than 20 minutes and it wasn’t long before we were enjoying frozen refreshments in the infinity pool.
Guest Room:
The welcome by the awaiting doormen from the moment we stepped out of our transfer, right through check-in and being escorted to our suite, was flawless. It was as though we were well-loved friends returning for the umpteenth time – even though this was our very first visit to the resort. Our fourth-floor one-bedroom honeymoon suite that overlooked the adult pool was extremely spacious, well appointed, comfortable, and afforded splendid ocean views.

Resort Amenities:
These days, one of the most highly required (and expected) amenities travelers need is fast and free internet. We found the free and unlimited Wi-Fi throughout the resort to be fast and capable of handling all of our gadgets; whether we were at the pool, in a restaurant or bar, or in our guest room. Free international calling to the USA, Canada and Mexico is also included with the Dreams Los Cabos Unlimited Connectivity feature.
Dining:
All meals, 24-hour room service, and unlimited top-shelf spirits, fine wines, beer, and soft-drinks are included throughout the resort as part of the Dreams Los Cabos Unlimited Luxury experience. Restaurants have various opening days and hours, so be sure to check the schedule and plan your dining. The variety and quality of gourmet and casual dining offered at the resort is extensive and delicious – we were impressed with all the options. On select evenings, theme dining and parties occured – i.e Mexican night by the beach. We also liked that there are no wrist bands, and no reservations required at any of the restaurants.

- An extensive breakfast buffet featuring Mexican and international dishes is available at the World Café.

Resort Activities:
A full daily activity program was provided in our guest room each night – detailing all sorts of fun events to observe or participate in the next day. If we had wanted, we would have been busy from early morning until late at night without ever leaving the resort – archery, beach walks, bocce ball, ping pong, tennis, rock climbing, beach/pool volleyball, cooking classes, big-screen movies under the stars, etc.
Some of our most favorite times were spent around the adult pool (serene) and the infinity pool (bustling with families and action); plus we made sure to participate in the morning yoga sessions by the beach. There are three beautiful pools for resort guests to enjoy: Adult-only pool (18 years and over) with a swim-up bar; infinity pool with a swim-up bar that is welcoming to all – especially families; children’s pool – shallow enough for the tiniest of tots and toddlers. Plus, the large and well-equipped fitness center has plenty of options to keep the most ardent gym-goers buffed up.
Kids Explorer’s Club:
We didn’t take any kidlets with us on this trip, therefore, we don’t have firsthand experience with the Kids Explorer’s Club. But, we did hover near the club to watch what was going on. From what we witnessed, the kids that did use this facility loved every minute of it and were excited to join many different activities.
Spa:
The newly-renovate Dreams Spa by Pevonia is compact, but offers a wide variety of massage, salon and various other treatments. We each enjoyed a classic Swedish massage in the spa and would highly suggest booking in advance so to get the time slot you want. Make sure to have enough time either before or after a treatment to use the sauna, steam room and hydrotherapy pool.
Bottom Line:
Whether travelling on a couples or family vacation, for business, or if seeking a fabulous wedding or honeymoon destination, WJ deems Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort & Spa to be the perfect place to stay when seeking a top-notch all-inclusive resort in Los Cabos. Ambiance, quality, friendliness of service, variety of activities available, and dining options, all exceeded our expectations and left us wanting to stay at the resort for much longer. We enjoyed the dining, facilities, activities and amenities during our stay so much that we did not leave the resort until departure for our next adventure. As all taxes and gratuities are included in the daily rate, it was nice not needing to carry around anything other than a room key during our stay. We’ll be back soon!
