After leaving Ho Chi Minh City this afternoon we drove through the Mekong Delta to My Tho and boarded Uniworld River Orchid. Now we start the 7-night cruise portion of our trip on the Mekong River through Vietnam and Cambodia on Uniworld’s Timeless Wonders of Vietnam and Cambodia tour.
The ship is so different from all the river ships we have sailed on in Europe. River Orchid is quite beautiful with the classic and elegant ambiance of ancient Indochina (lots of dark wood accented by warm colors) – we feel as though we’ve been transported back to another time and place. Quite magical!
The Cambodian crew are all incredibly friendly and knew our names within hours of boarding. We can already tell that this is going to be another Uniworld river cruise we won’t want to end!
