After a 29-hour journey from the west coast of North America, we finally arrived safe and sound in Saigon, Vietnam. We are incredibly excited to visit this fascinating country for the first time and look forward to learning about the history, culture, people and everyday life.
The motorbikes are crazy! So many of them… buzzing by at lightening speed. How many million motorbikes are there here? It must be about 4 million! There don’t seem to be many rules to driving on the roads in the city, but everyone gets where they want to go. It’s almost like they are all participating in choreographed dance-like maneuvers.
There is a frenetic energy in this city that doesn’t seem to stop, and amazingly enough (we’re not typically big city gals), we’re thoroughly enjoying our first taste of it.
