Wish You Were Here – Postcard From Hoi An, Vietnam
We are exploring the charming and unique Central Vietnam ancient town of Hoi An, a UNESCO world heritage site. The town is located on the Thu Bon River and has been an important Asian trading port for hundreds (maybe thousands) of years – some reports indicate it dates back as early as the 2nd century BC.
Today Hoi An is a popular tourist town and is especially beautiful at night when all the lanterns that hang in the streets and around the town are lit up. You can even see interesting architecture and details on the well-preserved buildings that are made entirely from wood.
One of the most impressive and historical structures to see is the Japanese Covered Bridge – originally constructed on the site in the 1590s by the Japanese.
Happy Travels!
