Wish You Were Here – Elephant Nature Park, Thailand
Today we had one of the most incredible experiences we’ve ever had. We spent the day with rescued elephants at Elephant Nature Park in Northern Thailand.
If you’re like us and love elephants, you will want to find out more about the rescue and rehabilitation work being done on a daily basis at ENP by founder Sangduen “Lek” Chailert, her team of 300 full-time workers and scores of volunteers from around the world.
And, if you are considering riding an elephant at some point… we implore you not to! These magnificent creatures deserve to be treated with love and respect. In most cases this does not happen with elephants that are used for rides and in the circus.
Check the ENP website to read Lek’s story and how she started ENP, along with information on volunteer and visitor programs – it’s truly fascinating!
Happy Travels!
