WAVEJourney Travel Tips: Discover Norway’s Fjord Region
WAVEJourney Travel Tips: Discover Norway’s Fjord Region
Fancy a fjord? There is no better place to start exploring than in Bergen, Norway. Dubbed “The Gateway to the Fjords of Norway”, Bergen is the perfect jumping off spot for a Western Norway adventure.
WAVE Journey enjoyed eight full days on the ground in Norway this summer. It was barely enough time to get our feet wet, but our appetite was certainly whetted for future travel in this spectacularly beautiful country.
From the Bryggen in Bergen, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to The Flam Railway, one of the world’s steepest railway lines, to the world renowned Geirangerfjord to the Art Nouveau town of Alesund, we tripped through eye-popping scenery.
We stayed at lovely historic hotels and state-of-the-art new hotels.
We dined at fish markets and top-notch restaurants.
Read on and do some armchair travelling with us as we take you on our Norwegian adventure… then book your own Norwegian vacation and go discover fantastic fjords, fine food and friendly folks ~ all that Norway has to offer.
