WJ Tested – Relais & Chateaux: Sonora Resort in British Columbia
Relais & Chateaux Resort on Sonora Island in British Columbia, Canada
WJ’s Review – A Bucket List Addition for Lovers of Luxury and Wildlife!
After spending three days at Sonora Resort WJ placed this all-inclusive Relais & Chateaux property on our own personal “ultimate vacations” list.
Our travel to the resort itself, located on Sonora Island off the mainland of British Columbia, was via a thrilling and beautiful 45-minute helicopter ride. Another option is to arrive by water taxi.
Upon arriving at Sonora Resort we were amazed by the abundance of outdoor and indoor activities that awaited us. There was also plenty of outdoor gear available for our use to suit the variable weather conditions. Outdoor enthusiasts could enjoy: grizzly tours; fishing; hiking; biking; tennis; kayaking. The bookworm guest would be very content relaxing beside the fireplace with a beverage of choice and a good book. And then there is the spa and mineral pools; and we couldn’t keep ourselves out of the games room.
WJ stayed in the Bute Lodge building and our expansive room, with comfy queen-size beds, was modernly furnished in soft calming tones, featured a gas fireplace, comfy sitting area and large picture windows optimizing ocean and mountain views.
At Sonora Resort we were able to get away from the rest of the world while still staying in contact via phone, internet and TV.
The all-inclusive rates included: top-notch dining; picnic lunches; house wines; cocktails; in-room bar; snacks; and much more…
Bottom line:
Secluded. Intimate. Surrounded by nature. Activities galore. Exceeded expectations. Personal service. Unforgettable stay. If any of these descriptors match what you’re looking for in a vacation, then Sonora Resort is a destination to add to your list.
It doesn’t get any better than this!
