After almost two days at sea on Fathom’s Adonia, WAVEJourney was happy to be on terra firma at Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic. Adonia is the smallest (30,200 tons) ocean ship we have sailed on, and it did take a little longer than usual for us to get our sea legs when the motion of the ocean was somewhat rough as we cruised from Miami, Florida to the DR.
Fathom is a new brand under the Carnival Corporation, and WJ was on the inaugural Dominican Republic social impact cruise – which is a new and unique concept in voluntourism.
