This photograph shows the top portion of the Treasury at Petra, Jordan – a structure that stands almost 40 meters high. Petra was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986. Known as the ancient Rose City, Petra was carved into the mountains by the Nabataen Arab tribe, and dates back to the 1st century AD. In 2007 Petra became one of the New 7 Wonders of the World – we can definitely see why.
