Amsterdam Royal Palace in Dam Square

The Royal Palace in Amsterdam’s Dam Square was originally built to serve as the town hall in the 17th century. The building, which is still used by the Royal Family, was transformed into a palace by King Louis Napoleon Bonaparte in 1808. Street performers in the square outside the Palace always draw large crowds of spectators.
