Happy Holidays from Laos
We hope you are all enjoying a festive and happy holiday season in the company of good friends and family.
In the past six weeks we have travelled through Vietnam and Cambodia and are now in Laos. Our journey has been one wondrous adventure after another, with every day bringing something new and amazing into our lives.
Spending time in Southeast Asia, especially at this time of the year, has been particularly insightful for us. So many people in this part of the world have so little, yet they are happy, thankful, gracious and giving. They seem to truly care for each other, be perfectly fine without the latest and greatest and biggest of anything and everything. Maybe more importantly… they don’t appear stressed and have the philosophy that if you are doing something that you do not like or that makes you unhappy then you do something else. Family takes care of family and neighbors look out for each other. The old look after the young until it is time for the young to take care of the old – the circle of life.
We have learned much from so many wonderful people and believe (for us) that as we reflect on our journey, maybe there is a simpler and less stressful path to follow as we head into a new year.
Wishing everyone a healthy, happy, less stressful 2014 that is spent fulfilling your dreams.
