From downtown Boise, Idaho it is possible to enjoy a variety of interesting activities as a day trip. From glass blowing to shopping to local dining to visiting a distillery to learning all about birds of prey, there is something for every age and interest level.
Take a scenic 59-minute (30-mile) drive out to Zion Mountain Art Glass and experience glass blowing at its best. You can either watch the pros masterfully making mind-blowing pieces, or book a class and make your own.

A pleasant 10-mile drive will take you to the quaint, family-oriented town of Eagle. After strolling through town and shopping at modern boutiques that are now housed in some of the city’s original stone buildings. Our favorite place to enjoy dining with the locals.
The Blue Moose Cafe – Fantastic sandwiches, wraps, soups and salads are served in this fun and funky cafe.

Also, just a 10 mile drive from downtown Boise and you can be in Meridian. A very popular Basque restaurant in Meridian is Epi’s. Serving fantastic food in a cozy and friendly atmosphere.

World Center for Birds of Prey is a 15-minute drive from downtown Boise – Tour the center and view these amazing birds at the headquarters of The Peregrine Fund. See California Condor, Harpy Eagle, Eurasian Eagle-Owl, Turkey Vulture, Apomado Falcon, Bald Eagle, Ornate Hawk-Eagle and more.
