WJ’s Review – A Bucket List Addition for Storm Watchers and Spa Lovers!

The Wickaninnish Inn is ideally suited for beachcombing, storm watching, exploring Tofino, and relaxing amidst nature.

WJ stayed in the Beach Wing at the Wickaninnish Inn, which we loved for the breathtaking ocean views. The Beach Building also offers a guest library with computer, lobby area with fireplace and comfy seating, Driftwood Lounge for grabbing that morning cappuccino and pastry, and quick access to Chesterman Beach.

Our guest room was spacious and comfortable, featured a gas fireplace, had a huge bathroom with a tub that looked out at the crashing surf and beach, and gave us endless hours of relaxation just watching the changing tide patterns.

Evening dining in The Pointe Restaurant was every foodies culinary delight. Views of the Pacific Ocean from the restaurant were as awe-inspiring as the menus, and we were greatly impressed both by the presentation and creativity that Chef Nicholas Nutting and his team wowed us with.

At every turn, service was prompt, professional and courteous. The front desk clerks were particularly helpful giving us advice on area excursions and making restaurant recommendations for Tofino.

Note: Make sure to book a spa treatment. And if you’re travelling as a twosome, the couples massage in the Ancient Cedars Spa should not be missed.

  1. We did check out Ucluelet (by the by is that first L silent, or not?) but weren’t impressed or interested in finding a pet-friendly place to hunker down for a few days. We never made it for food other than the Schooners/Upstairs duo, which were both excellent, but I’ve got food and accommodation recommendations aplenty for a trip back.
